Fantastic English made, polished oak 4ft 10" 'Challen' baby grand piano
 
About The Piano
This is an absolutely beautiful piano both internally and externally that was originally made in London by Challen. In the not too distant past, it has undergone a FULL overhaul at significant expense that I will list below in more detail.
 
One of the slightly smaller baby grands at 4ft 10", so not to be too big and overpowering in a room.
 
This elegant piano has a gorgeous subtle oak finish in excellent condition to suit any decor. A couple of small scuffs and imperfections in places to be expected particularly on the back leg but nothing noticeable to speak of, very much presentable.
 
Privately owned previously (not a former school piano).
Tuned regularly every year and very well cared for as you can see.
 
This has undergone full overhaul at significant expense (more than the piano is worth) by the previous owner giving it a new lease of life for many more decades to come! It has had: new key tops, new strings, new pins, new hammers, new dampers, new bridge felts, new rollers, soundboard polish, frame refinished, new centre pins, new springs, new rest rail felt and I'm sure there is more I've forgot! But basically everything has been redone internally to give it a new lease of life.
 
The hammers, action, rollers, strings, dampers etc are still in immaculate condition as can be seen in the photos and the piano plays wonderfully.
 
Regularly tuned to concert pitch by the previous owner - we have also tuned the piano to A440hz concert pitch again in house so it arrives ready to play.
 
We have checked over everything on this piano including the pedals, keys, tuning pins, pin block, bridge, soundboard, dampers along with giving it a full clean, service and polish.
 
This piano really does look the piece and will not look out of place in any room of any home.
 
There is no compromise on sound quality either as it plays very well all along the full size keyboard.
 
Both pedals and all 88 keys work as they should having been fully checked over when tuned
